Supply List:
Paper Mache House
Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas Patterned Paper and stickers
Xyron 900 Creative Station or Xyron Creatopia with Permanent Adhesive Cartridge
Acetate or Acrylic Sheets
White Acrylic Paint
White Pen
Glitter Glue
White and Yellow Glitter
Eyelash Trim
Pop Dots
Directions:
-
Trace the walls of the house onto the backside of the Echo Park Patterned Paper. Cut out.
-
Trace the roof Gables onto the back side of a matching pattern. Cut out.
-
Paint the roof, the base and the edges of the paper mache house white. The roof may need 2 coats for full coverage. Let dry.
-
Paint a thin layer of modge podge on the roof and the base. While still wet, sprinkle with white glitter and shake off excess. Let dry and then spray with a sealer (Valspar from Michaels works well). You can skip the sealer step if the finished item will not be handled too much.
-
Run the papers cut in #1 through the Xyron sticker maker. Adhere to the house form. Sand the edges, if desired to get the perfect fit.
-
Cut the acetate sheet into pieces slightly smaller than the sides of the house (only sides with doors/windows). Run through the Xyron sticker maker.
-
Adhere the acetate to the inside wall of the house with the adhesive facing outwards. Spread yellow glitter on the adhesive showing through the windows and door. Shake off excess.
-
For the small house, cut small rectangles from the coordinating patterned paper. Doodle the white lines on the shutters and adhere to the house with Pop Dots.
-
Embellish with the stickers from the Sticker sheet. Use pop dots (if desired) to layer the stickers and/or add dimension.
-
Finish the seam between the roof and base by adhering some eyelash trim (or other trim) to the roof piece.
-
Finish the base using glitter glue.
-
Use a flameless tealight (or 2) to safely illuminate the luminary.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
