Some quick creative sharing...

I cropped a few weeks ago, on a Saturday and got ALOT of things accomplished, which, if you've cropped with me before, IS HIGHLY UNUSUAL! Usually I spend most of my time chatting, eating, spending $$ and staring at beautiful pieces of paper trying to decide what to do...well, NOT THIS TIME...well, I still ate, spend and stared, but I DID do alot less chatting and ALOT more working...some examples...

A layout of my DD in India, using Pebbles new Happy Go Lucky and Ever After:

I finished up my samples for my March Fast, Fun and Fabulous Class at the Scrapbooking Studio...here's a peek of one of the two pagers, using a sketch in Allison Davis' Sketches for Scrapbooking, vol. 3. and some American Crafts City Park papers!

I did ANOTHER American Crafts layout...using their BRAND NEW Campy Trails papers...this one was picked up for publication in October 2011 Scrapbooks etc. magazine, so I can't share it (quite yet)...

I finished my SEI lifestyle projects, as I'm guest blogging over there next week...super excited about this one, here's a sneaky peeky of my 1st project...

Phew, I'm beat, just redescribing the crop...but it sure was FUN...gotta do it again soon!!

What I'm working on and a fun new ebook from Ella

I'm working on a (gasp) mini album...yes I am!! It's led me to the question why I don't do more minis...and it comes down to time...I like fast, easy projects and minis always seem to take me FOREVER to put together...probably exactly because I don't do too many, so I don't have any standard 'plans' to lean back on and speed things up...BUT, I do create some time consuming altered items, so that can't be the whole reason...turns out, when I do an altered item, I break it down into small, managable bits that can be accomplished in 30 minutes here, 30 minutes there, with LOTS of interuptions...I decided I should be able to apply that to a mini album...so I AM!!

This mini will be an album to document my family's upcoming trip to India...it'll be my 3rd trip and I've collected so many pictures each time, I decided this trip would perfect to document in this manner...since I've been inspired by the recent art journal blog posts of Megan, Amy and others I'm going to create a fancy artistic cover. And because I see December Daily albums EVERYWHERE courtesy of Ali Edwards...I'm premaking the album and planning to just add pictures and journalling as I go...hopefully I score this baby on Friday...(19.99 at best buy, regular 49.99)

Pogo

which will allow me to create the album pages practically in real time...(I'm using the excuse that my DS has to do a picture/word journal of the same trip for his class homework as the reason to buy my toys!!) Check back later this week for pics of the cover and some pages...

On another note, one of my favorite ebook companies, Ella Publishing has released an issue near and dear to my heart...2 page layout design!! LOVE that they're doing this...

Double-Page Design: Creating two-page layouts that really shine by Write.Click.Scrapbook.

Toodles, and thanks for stopping by!

the FIRST Fast, Fun and Fabulous Friday

Try and say that 3 times fast!!

I'm starting a weekly feature here on the blog...each Friday I will highlight something or someone that helps make the scrapbooking, paper crafting process FAST, FUN or FABULOUS...most of you know that I'm a married, working, mother of two little ones and that presents a time challenge when it comes to creating...I'm often asked, how I get everything done, so I thought I share some thoughts, insights and inspiration, at least as much as I have...so here goes the first installment...

FAST, FUN AND FABULOUS--let's talk INSPIRATION...

Paper crafts, cards, or scrapbook pages come together alot quicker when you have MOJO, or an idea, or a color scheme already in mind...these things allow you to get 'down to business' assembling your project more quickly than if you had to start from scratch...I can recall many a project that started without any inspiration at all, just me moving my scrap crap around on my table, over and over, waiting for something to click...usually it doesn't...so I make sure I am up to date on the latest trends, the hottest color schemes or best sketch sites...I also document ideas as they come to me...usually on scraps of paper I later drop by my computer...this way all my ideas are 'in my face' all the time and when I sit down at my table I've got several good starting points...if I'm really stuck, I'll scraplift MYSELF...I've got a bunch of 'favorite' layouts, some published, some not, that I turn to for inspiration when the time is really tight...so here's some linky loving to get your inspiration tank FILLED and ready for the next time you have time to create...
