A Core'dinations Card...

This past weekend I whipped up this card using the NEW Xyron Creatopia Shapez flower die (by Spellbinders) and some of my fave Core'dinations cardstock...the sentiment is from a Jillibean soup diecut sheet and I adhered it to the backside of a heart stickpin (also from Jillibean) and stuck it in the foam adhesive....super fun and super quick too!

A spring friendship canvas

I've been a misting mad woman lately...here I started with a 6x6 mini canvas from Canvas Corp. and created some misting masks using the Spellbinders Lotus pendant die set and my Xyron Creatopia (with Shapez module). I used Tattered Angels mists (marigold, flower power and party pink) to mist over the masks and then finished off the canvas with some Jilliebean Soup Blossom Soup die cuts and a sugar pick.

I added some pearls to the butterfly die cut, but the sugar pick comes with them already attached!

A jillibean spotted owl soup layout...

I {heart} all things jillibean...maybe 'cause Jill was into science in school? maybe 'cause the bright colors in the lines can brighten any winter day? or maybe because their corrugated alphas are sized PERFECTLY for scrapbook page titles...{sigh}...maybe I just love them, just because they make my kids look so stinkin' cute!!

Here's a layout of my DD on her 3rd birthday, using the full size Spotted Owl Papers from one of my FAVES, jillibean soup...so glad that I helped convince Amy at the Scrapbooking Studio to carry them...I'm eagerly awaiting her first shipment!!

My singing kidlets and a weekend page...FINISHED!!

I might be breaking out of my creative slump...more on that later...

My son is pretty good at playing the piano (for his age) as the video on this post proves....looks like his musical talent ends there...here's a new video of the kidlets singing Happy Birthday to me a few weeks ago...

Despite the obvious 'tone deaf', yelling til your throat hurts feel of the performance, it still melts my heart to hear it again...this one's a keeper!!

Oh and here's a page that I finished this weekend...finally, I was able to sketch, print and create a page/project start to finish without multiple breaks due to creative brick walls...it's been a while folks...maybe it's over? Fingers crossed here in the frigid state formerly known as Iowa, now called 'the southern North Pole'....at least in my books...

Self portraits

Supplies are mostly Jillibean Atomic Soup, with a Teresa Collins transparency and some American Crafts thickers thrown in for good measure!

Good thing the mojo is back, 'cause look what Canvas Corp. sent me as part of a cross promotion with Xyron:

Repurposed Containers for Gift Giving...

I LOVE to alter things, particularly if the new items can have a 2nd purpose in life before they hit the landfill...so I went to my altered drawer and found 3 empty containers...one from some flavored instant coffee, one from some cocoa powder and the glass jar was from some soup (I buy this brand of soup FOR the jar...), the papers, journalling sprouts and cardstock stickers are all from Jillibean Soup and all the base papers were run through my Xyron Creatopia with Permanent Adhesive Cartridge to stick them down...

Life lessons courtesy of the bee...

Hello!! I'm sharing a layout today...and there's quite the story of how this one came together...kinda random story....so stay with me as I explain...

I bought the Jillibean Soup Atomic Soup collection shortly after it was released for a number of reasons...1. I like most everything Jillibean Soup makes!! 2. I especially like Jillibean's science stuff as I am a self proclaimed NERD and my husband is a closet NERD (i.e. we're both chemists by training, I admit my nerdiness, he tries to hide it) and 3. My children are NERDS in training--poor things--my son had a lab book describing his every newborn action until he was 3 months old...we loosened up a bit with #2...

Anyways, I got the papers out to scrapbook a page about my son's 1st math test as he scored 100%...the class average was 80%...(told you--we are a FAMILY of NERDS)...AND noticed how the yellow patterned paper depicting fused conjugated rings looked like honeycombs AND I had bee pictures from this summer in my 'to be scrapped pile' AND I'd have plenty of paper left over to scrap the nerdiness of ALL my family members, so I switched subjects...

I cut around the edge of the design to create my own diecut paper, ran it through my Xyron Creatopia, and then started assembling the page. I created a scalloped border from the corrugated flower embellishments, by cutting them in half and lining them up under the photo block. Then I created some life lessons based on my knowlegde of bees (and one line from the BEE MOVIE)...Voila...a fast, fun and somewhat educational page!! Love it...

Life lessons collage

Toodles all...check back Friday...I'm starting a "Fast, Fun and Fabulous Friday Feature"...that's alot of F words....all ok to use on a G rated blog too!!
